14" Eight Day Cuckoo Clock Cottage - Fisherman Raises Fishing Pole

At the top of each hour the expert angler reels in his big catch on this eight-day cuckoo clock cottage.  The fisherman is outdoors by a small pond surrounded by hand-carved trees and his trusty dog, Wirbelwind.  The cuckoo clock cottage has two windows with wooden shutters and a decorative bell tower on the top of the shingled sloping roof.

On every hour the man raises and lowers his fishing pole as the cuckoo bird cuckoos the hour.  (Example: At one o'clock the bird will cuckoo once. At eight o'clock the bird will cuckoo eight times).

There is also a manual night shut off switch that allows you to mute the cuckoo sound and stop the fisherman.  Two cast iron pinecone weights are suspended beneath the clock case by two separate brass chains.    The hand-made pendulum continuously swings back and forth controlling the timing of the clock.

  The eight-day brass mechanical Regula movement is wound once per eight days by pulling the chains which raises the two pinecone weights. One weight powers the time and the other weight powers the cuckoo, cuckoo call, and the fisherman.
